Tea time for the Holidays! -
Brewing up a cup of tea to enjoy is a wonderful form of self-care, encouraging us to slow down while waiting as the herbs gently steep, giving their goodness to the water. Especially during the holiday season when life can get hectic, it is important to find ways to keep stress under wraps and put our wellness first.
Herbs commonly used by herbalists during the winter season include botanical allies such as ginger, cinnamon, hawthorn, mints, rose hips, Echinacea, elderberry and flower, tulsi basil, Astragalus, and Calendula. Each of these herbs offer their own unique array of useful properties that are important for supporting wellness at any time of the year but especially during the winter!

Minty Rosemary Tisane
Mint and rosemary are classic holiday herbs that come together in this simple brew that is filled with the goodness of volatile oils naturally present in these strongly aromatic plants. These plants are used by herbalists to not only assist the body in fighting off infections and ease digestion but also stimulate and relax the nervous system. Plus they taste so good!
Steep a cup of this tea on a winter afternoon when sluggishness has set in or you feel overwhelmed by holiday preparations and you need a lift. This lovely blend also is perfect to enjoy as a delicious after dinner tea.
This recipe will make one big cup, but you can double or even quadruple it to make more to share!
1 heaping teaspoon spearmint or peppermint leaves
1 heaping teaspoon rosemary leaves
10 ounces water, brought to a boil
Place the herbs in a heat-proof container and cover with boiling hot water. Cover your tisane to retain the volatile oils in the tea and let steep for 10 to 20 minutes. Strain and enjoy!
